Police Chase in Palmview Ends with Driver’s Arrest
PALMVIEW – The Palmview Police Department arrested a man after he bailed out near a school, forcing it to go on lockdown.
The lockdown has since been lifted.
It happened around 11:00 Tuesday morning near Flores Elementary on Goodwin Road, south of Expressway 83.
Police said officers tried to stop a vehicle but the driver refused. Then, he bailed out and five other people ran from the vehicle.
Border Patrol agents caught at least three of them.
Flores Elementary was put on a brief lockdown while agents and police searched the area.
The driver is currently in police custody.
