Valley Man Facing Challenges in Burned Down Home

ALTON – A Rio Grande Valley man who was previously affected by a fire is now facing more challenges following the recent heavy rain.
He is currently living in a home which burned down in 2016 and says the little bit of clothing, along with his mattress, was ruined by high waters.
George Lopez says he thought it was his turn to receive new housing but the McAllen Housing Authority recently informed him they were still working on cases from 2015.
Though he is receiving assistance from an Adult Daycare Center in Alton, it is limited because the help is only available until 5:00 p.m.
