Cameron County man charged with murder after wife found dead in Bayview
A 45-year-old Cameron County man is accused of killing his wife after a fight turned physical, according to the Cameron County Sheriff's Office.
Cameron County jail records show Aldo Vargas is in custody on a murder charge in connection with the investigation.
Aldo Vargas was arrested after deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to the 29,000 block of Siesta Lane in Bayview on Sunday after a 911 call came in. When they arrived, they found 43-year-old Dulce Vargas unresponsive with multiple injuries, several of which were to her face, according to a news release.
Dulce Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was ordered.
The 911 caller turned out to be her husband, 45-year-old Aldo Vargas. He told deputies he and his wife had argued, and the fight “became physical.”
Deputies detained Aldo Vargas and took him to the Cameron County Sheriff's Office for questioning, and he was later held as the murder suspect.
“It appeared that Aldo Vargas used an unknown blunt object as the murder weapon,” the news release stated.
Bond for Aldo Vargas was set at $100,000.
