Donna ISD Students to Make Up for Lost Time

DONNA – The Donna Independent School District says students will have to make up for lost time this year.

The school district says schools in Texas are required by law to create annual calendars that have to lay out the teaching schedule down to the minute.

When weather events cause delays, that time has to be made up; as was the case on a cold, rainy day in January.

Donna ISD Interim Superintendent Filomena Leo says it’s not just an ethical obligation, but a legal one.

Parents were notified of the schedule change through their mass text system, Facebook page and the school district’s website.
