Early Voting Turnout for Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr Counties
WESLACO – It’s the final day of early voting for the 2018 March primary elections.
As of Thursday, the number of in-person votes in Hidalgo County totaled 30,247.
The number compares to a total of 29,967 votes at the same point in 2014.
On Election Day, Hidalgo County residents will be able to vote at any polling location countywide.
At last check, 8,623 voters showed up to the polls in Cameron County.
Cameron County Elections Administrator Remy Garza says the low-turnout is about 10 percent behind than what it was in 2014.
In Starr County, 9,473 people have cast their ballots so far.
While some polling locations have already closed, the Old County Courthouse will remain open until 7 p.m. Friday.
Voters will have to cast their ballots at their designated district on Election Day.
