Edinburg police seeking suspect in aggravated assault with a deadly weapon investigation

The Edinburg Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a man accused of threatening someone with a gun at the victim’s residence before fleeing the scene.

Officers with the Edinburg Police Department were dispatched Thursday to an apartment at the 1700 block of Powell Street at around 9 a.m. in reference to a disturbance, according to a news release. Investigators learned at the scene that 26-year-old Juvenal Garcia Perez showed up at the victim’s home, threatened, and pointed a gun at the victim before leaving the residence.

An arrest warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was issued against Perez, the news release stated. 

The suspect’s vehicle was found Thursday evening at Ware Road and Mile 8 ½, but a search of the area did not locate Perez.
