A free health event is coming to Edinburg this week with no sign-up required.

Fiesta de Salud is happening this Thursday. The event will offer free hearing, vision, dental, and glucose screenings at American Legion Post 408 on South Closner Boulevard.

"We host these events every month, and we get more than 200 people in attendance," RGV Promotions Events Coordinator Marie Martinez said. "We service a lot of impoverished areas, areas that don't have health insurance, areas that don't have transportation to get to doctor's appointments."

Organizers will also share information on healthy meal planning, fraud prevention, and help with utility bills for seniors.

The event starts at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.
