WESLACO – Water is currently being pumped into the International Boundary and Water Commission floodway in Hidalgo County.  

We learned part of the issue is that the Rio Grande Valley sits at such an elevation that the water needs to be pumped out.

Weslaco Public Works crews are off of Mile 2 Road, near the edge of Weslaco and Mercedes, draining water over a levee.

KRGV's Christian Von Preysing joined them at the levee.
