Hidalgo Co. Pct. 5 Hoping to Expand to Help Response Times
ELSA –Precinct 5 in Hidalgo County is hoping to expand to help response times in northern rural areas.
The constable’s office is currently being manned by three people but they hope to add five more deputies by October.
“Last report we ran, which was at the beginning of August, we've responded to over 500 calls of services,” says Pct. 5 Chief Deputy Diomar Galvan.
Before the return of this precinct, nearby residents were relying on the sheriff’s office for help.
The precinct has been up and running since January.
