La Grulla, TX (KRGV) — A boil water notice remains in effect in La Grulla as the city repairs its water plant and small businesses work to stay open.

Jacob Morales owns Border Edges Barber World in La Grulla. Morales says he is using small water bottles to fill spray bottles after his shop went three days without running water.

"Not so bad. It's getting better. Little yellow, we have a boiling hazard right now. So we need to start boiling our water," Owner Jacob Morales said.

He brought in 15 gallons of water to keep the business open.

"Another thing is product. Put gel in your hands, you style them, 'Where am I going to wash my hands?' Now I am a sticky guy, got to wear gloves," Morales said.

He is not the only business owner affected by the water outage.

Karina Olivarez owns Taqueria Pepes in La Grulla. Her restaurant was without water for two days and she said she drove to Sullivan City for water to wash their hands, clean the restrooms and wash dishes.

"It was frustrating because the truth is, without notice. There were days with low water pressure. They did let us know that there was low pressure and that they were making repairs, but they didn't tell us it was going to be out completely," Owner Karina Olivarez said. "What I learned is to have a bigger tank if it happens again. Hopefully not, but we do need to be notified at least."

On Monday, the city released a statement that water was full restored following the interruptions that were caused by a waterline break at the water plant.
