Man Rescued from Silo Thanks Rescuers

EDINBURG – A man rescued from a silo is thanking the men who he calls his heroes.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS told you about Angel Garcia a couple of weeks ago. He was rescued from the top of a silo 130 feet in the air.

Garcia is suffering from circulation issues stemming from being stuck in a safety harness for two hours.

He and his family visited the Edinburg Fire Department to give a personal thank you to some of the firefighters who saved his life.

“They were able to rescue me in that situation, in that difficult situation that I was in and that they risked their own lives. The least I could do come here, and give them my thanks, and shake hands and tell them how grateful I am with them, as well as my family that they realize the excellent way they did their work,” he said.

Garcia said he expects to be medically cleared by doctors to go back to work by the end of the week.
