Man Sentenced for Illegally Possessing Firearm, Impersonating Federal Agent

BROWNSVILLE – The son of a former Gulf Cartel leader will spend the next two years behind bars.

Osiel Cardenas Jr. pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and impersonating a U.S. Marshal.

The 22-year-old was arrested at a bar in Brownsville in March.

A judge ordered Cardenas to also pay a $15,000 fine.
