Military Children Honored Through Local Project
MCALLEN- A special day was held for valley children with ties to the military.
Operation Military Kids Lives Matters Too, was founded two years ago.
It recognizes that military children also serve, as they're expected to support their families missions.
12-year-old Jazmine Rodriguez shared her story as a military child.
She said days that honor her like these, help.
"It helps to know that other kids know that it's okay to talk about being a military kid," said Rodriguez.
April is the month of the military child, represented by the color purple.
