Mission's Fall Sweep Roundup event offers free tire and junk drop off
Mission, TX (KRGV) — Mission will hold a free Fall Sweep Roundup so residents can get rid of bulky items.
The event runs as a drive-thru and staff will help residents unload old TVs, refrigerators, mattresses, furniture, tires and barbecue pits.
The event is set for around 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 24, next to the Mission Hike and Bike Trail.
"Usually we have a staff of about 10 helping us. The last event that we had, believe it or not, we collected over a thousand tires because we do have free drop off for tires. And then total, I think we ended up with about 30 tons of junk," Mission Sanitation Director Roel Mendiola said.
Residents must bring proof of residency and the city does not accept construction material.
