More Mosquito Sprayers Ordered for the Valley
WESLACO – Gov. Greg Abbott is sending more mosquito sprayers to the Rio Grande Valley.
The Hidalgo County Health and Human Services director says the mosquito problem is going to be severe and it will likely take months to get it under control.
He says weather conditions will also determine the success of those efforts.
In the meantime, the public is asked to dump out any standing water around their property.
In addition, county leaders are asking homeowners to use mosquito-killing pellets in standing water since crews cannot enter private property.
