Noticeable taste or smell changes expected in San Benito tap water during maintenance
San Benito is temporarily changing its water treatment process through Aug. 31, 2026.
During that time, residents may notice changes in the taste or smell of their water. The city says the water remains safe for normal use, the city said in a Thursday social media post.
The city describes the change as a routine maintenance practice performed regularly to help maintain the quality and safety of drinking water. It also helps reduce naturally occurring buildup in water pipes.
