RIO GRANDE CITY – A Rio Grande City teen was arrested Tuesday by the school district police department for enticing a child and criminal trespass.

Rio Grande City CISD is not disclosing details of the incident. However, they released a statement:

"RGCCISD is committed to keeping our parents and community informed regarding material matters that have implications for the safety and security of our students. Although we have limited information at this time, we feel it is appropriate to share and ensure our community that RGCCISD is aware of the situation that occurred on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, resulting in an 18-year-old student being charged with enticing a minor student from the middle school campus. District officials proactively brought the incident to the attention of law enforcement and cooperated fully to address and resolve the situation. Law enforcement’s investigation is ongoing, but we want to assure parents that the safety of our students is the District’s most important priority. RGCCISD will take appropriate action and work with law enforcement to determine the best methods to ensure the safety of our students and staff."

CHANNEL 5 NEWS obtained court documents that were more descriptive of the incident.

According to the probable cause affidavits, Emilio Solis Jr., 18, reportedly went to Grulla Middle School Tuesday and picked up a 12-year-old girl from the campus.

Police were later notified the student had gone missing.

Upon reviewing the school's cameras, police observed the student boarding a white Mustang. Her mother was notified and law enforcement began driving toward the residence under which the vehicle was registered.

While en route, the Department of Public Safety located the vehicle at a ballroom where the student and Solis were found inside.

Solis is now facing two charges and held in custody on a combined $3,000 bond.
