Records show TEA, Lyford CISD making plans for next school year after appointing conservator
The Texas Education Agency and Lyford Consolidated Independent School District are already in talks about plans for the next school year after a conservator was appointed to the district.
The conservator was appointed to the district as part of the state accountability process. The TEA appointed Dr. Sylvia Ibarra to the role. She has been to monitoring Lyford Middle School and the systems the district has put in place as part of its turnaround efforts.

According to records obtained by Channel 5 News, Ibarra has been spending time inside the district, meeting with school leaders, board members, and staff.
She has also been sitting in on classroom observations, teacher meetings, and walkthroughs at Lyford Middle School.
TEA staff also visited the middle school in April to observe classrooms and discuss what still needs to improve, according to records.
Records also show Lyford CISD paid $18,000 in March and another $10,000 in April for Ibarra's work and travel expenses.
