WESLACO - The deadline to file your taxes is Tuesday, this includes those with foreign bank accounts.

In the past, people with  foreign accounts filed in the summer. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) changed the deadline to April 18th.

This includes U.S. citizens and legal residents. Also included are money in foreign trust funds and foreign banks.

The IRS expected 12 million people to file taxes before the April 18th deadline. An estimated 8 million people are expected to file for an extension.

Not filing for an extension will cost you late fees. An IRS extension does not give you more time to pay money you already know.

You can call the IRS for help with your taxes at 1-800-829-1040.

Individual tax filers can e-file their extension.
