Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick made a stop in Edinburg on Friday as part of his campaign bus tour.

Patrick said the government has put hundreds of millions of dollars into the Rio Grande Valley over the last 10 years. He pointed to new jobs at Starbase and a Valero LNG plant.

"If this election were to go the other way, that investment won't be there. There'll be other agenda items for the Democrats," Patrick said.

Patrick also said he wants to lower the age for school property tax freezes from 65 to 55. He also plans to push for new rules on data centers.
