A man and a woman were hospitalized Wednesday in critical condition after they were found in a Mission-area home with gunshot wounds, according to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra.

The victims were found at around 7:15 p.m. by deputies conducting a welfare check at a home on the 2500 block of Jessica Avenue near Mission.

“There’s no threat to the community. Investigation is ongoing,” Guerra added.
