The UTRGV Vaqueros took down Dallas Baptist on the baseball diamond on Tuesday afternoon in stunning fashion.

Trailing 5-4 heading into the ninth inning, the Vaqueros tallied a monstrous 11 runs in the final frame to run away with the upset win over the #20 ranked team in the country.

Armani Raygoza finished with a team-high four RBI on the day while Isaac Lopez, who started the ninth inning rally with the go-ahead RBI single, trailed closely behind with three runs batted in to go along with three hits.

This marks the first win over a ranked opponent for UTRGV baseball since 2023 and the first loss of the season for Dallas Baptist after starting the year with a 3-0 record.

The Vaqueros return home Friday to start a three-game series with North Dakota State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. in Edinburg.
