76-Year-Old Glad She Can Count on Neighbors during Emergencies
HARLINGEN – A Harlingen retiree says she never expected her property to flood as it did with Monday’s rain.
Virginia Melton, 76, lives alone in a quiet retirement community.
“I'm getting to the point where I can't walk without almost stumbling and falling. I've fallen three times here at the house,” said Melton.
The flooding came to her area when the lake behind the residents overflowed.
Melton explained the flooding has never been a problem; even with last year’s floods.
