AC restored at South Padre Island post office after months of outage

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez confirmed Saturday that the South Padre Island Post Office now has air conditioning.
As previously reported, residents said the post office had been without AC for months, leaving workers and visitors to deal with extreme heat inside the building.

At the time, the doors and windows were propped open, but the heat was still hard to miss.
USPS said it was aware of the situation and local management was taking steps to fix the HVAC system.
Gonzalez said the system has now been replaced.
