Judge Lifts Temporary Restraining Order Against Mercedes Commissioner
MERCEDES - A temporary restraining order preventing the city of Mercedes from removing a city commissioner has now been lifted.
As we first reported a few weeks ago, a commissioners meeting ended with multiple people arrested.
One of the items on the agenda was to remove Commissioner Leonel Benavidez.
He allegedly mistreated an employee.
A restraining order set by Benavidez’s attorneys stopped the city from taking any action.
