Parents Demand Answers in Fire that Claimed Daughter's Life in Alton
On Wednesday, the parents of 11-year-old Versidy Hernandez spoke with us about the tragic event.
They want answers.
Last month, several Rio Grande Valley fire departments responded to the Sunday afternoon call.
Officials said the fire was too dangerous to send anyone inside.
“I was screaming my lungs out for her name. Actually, since when I got there, I was screaming her name and you know, for her to see if she would respond,” said the girl’s father, Ventura Hernandez.
The parent’s attorney has hired a team of private investigators to take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the deadly fire.
