Pile of Debris Obstructing Fire Hydrant in San Benito Cleared
UPDATE (7/30): The pile of debris that was obstructing a fire hydrant is now cleared.
A resident called 5 ON YOUR SIDE after being unsuccessful at getting through to the city.
Crews were on scene shortly after the newscast.
SAN BENITO – Residents in a San Benito neighborhood feel they are being neglected.
A woman says she's concerned for the safety of her mother because of a pile of debris that is obstructing a fire hydrant.
Having the water easily accessible is crucial for her mother, who is 85 years old and may not be able to move fast enough if there is a fire.
A spokeswoman for the city tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS in a statement that obstructing fire hydrants is a serious matter and city crews are looking into it.
