Weslaco softball state champion Hannah Montelongo signs with Alvin College

Weslaco's Hannah Montelongo signed with Alvin College on Wednesday afternoon. This is the fifth college softball signing for the Panthers in the month of December.
"It's really special because it's something that I've been playing since I was three (years old), so knowing that I'm going to be able to continue doing this as a job that I enjoy," Montelongo said.
The senior second base was part of the 2024 team that won the state title. Last season, Montelongo was named 31-6A defensive most valuable player.
"I know that being part of that team is something that's forever going to stay with me because it was with a group of girls that's just as much dedicated themselves to this sport and I hope that I get to experience that feeling somewhere else," Montelongo said.
