Brownsville Fire, Police Responding to Body Found in Resaca

BROWNSVILLE – A body was found floating in a resaca in Brownsville Thursday afternoon.

Police say they received a call around 2 p.m. about a body of an adult male in the water between some businesses and homes near Calle Retama and Palm Boulevard.

The Brownsville Fire Department sent their boat out and quickly located the body.

Brownsville Police Spokesman J.J. Trevino tells CHANNEL 5 NEW the man appears to be in his 40s. He was also wearing jeans and a light-colored shirt, he says.

The victim did not have an ID with him.

Trevino says the body has several tattoos they hope will help in the identification process.

No missing person report has yet matched the victim’s description.

Police says there’s no apparent sign of foul play.

An autopsy has been ordered.
