The Charro Days Fiesta, one of the biggest events of the year in Brownsville, is set to kick off this weekend.

After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the festivities to go virtual last year, this time around, the 85th Charro Days Festival will be in-person again.

"We have been preparing all year long for the best festival possible," President of the Charro Days Fiesta Henry LeVrier said. "Last year was a very hard year for everybody. This year, that's why we're emphasizing: Come home. Let's get together. Let's celebrate and have a good time!"

Brownsville leaders say Charro Days is more than just a cultural icon in the city; it impacts the local economy in a big way.
