Brownsville’s Warrant Amnesty Program Underway

BROWNSVILLE – The city of Brownsville will disregard additional fines from people with outstanding balances.

A warrant amnesty program will be taking place at the Brownsville municipal court Monday, Feb. 12 to Friday, March 2.

Anyone with failure to appear fines and capias pro fines due to unpaid tickets will be waived if they pay their outstanding balance.

The person must visit the municipal court in person to be eligible unless stated otherwise by a presiding judge or assistant municipal director.

The city says no arrest will be made for those who voluntarily visit throughout the program’s duration.
