Rio Grande Valley, TX (KRGV) — Buckner Children and Family Services of the Rio Grande Valley facilitated 73 domestic adoptions in Texas during the 2025 fiscal year.

Between 115,000 and 150,000 children are adopted in the U.S. every year. Buckner helps contribute to those numbers.

Buckner Foster Care and Adoption Supervisor Veronica Molina spoke with Channel 5 News' Joel Villanueva about fostering and adopting a child and the programs Buckner has to offer.

Buckner will be having an informative event on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Ballroom, 1201 W. University Drive in Edinburg.

The event will be hosted by CASA of Hidalgo County and sponsored by UTRGV School of Social Work.
