HIDALGO – The city of Hidalgo is starting up a $1.2 million infrastructure program.

The Federal Economic Development Agency awarded the city the grant in September.

Hidalgo Mayor Sergio Coronado says the money will help improve drainage, sewer systems and roads.

He says the improvements will lead to a new apartment complex and a new IDEA Academy school, which will open in 2022.
