Donna Woman Concerned for Neighboring Nuisance Property
DONNA - Unkempt properties in Hidalgo County are becoming a big problem for neighbors.
It's home improvement time for the De Leon family, but outside it's something they can't fix
Lilia De Leon says overgrown trees, tires, and trash attract rodents that end up on her property.
All she wants is to fix her sons home so when he comes to visit.
De Leon is not alone; other neighbors told us they also complained to county officials.
Hidalgo County Operation Administrator Chris Treviño tells us they are seeing an increase of reported properties like this one.
In the three years the Nuisance Abatement Program has been in effect, Trevino says they have notified around 3,000 properties.
