EDINBURG – Edinburg’s scooter pilot program kicked off Monday. They teamed up with Blue Duck to bring 125 electric scooters to the city for a lower cost option of transportation.

Over the next six months, they’ll be looking at data collected by the scooters on popular trips, how many people used them and when peak times are. This will determine if it’ll become a permanent program.

The city also wants to hear from the public.

“So far on our social media, we've had positive feedback and of course there's always some negative, but so far, it seems to be taking well. We've seen quite of an excitement from that,” said Assistant City Manager Tom Reyna.

To try out a scooter, download the Blue Duck mobile app and put in your payment information.
