EDINBURG – Police are investigating after human skeletal remains were found Sunday evening.

Officers said a juvenile walking along an open field spotted what appeared to be a human skull in dirt. The discovery was made in the area of Ivy Lane and Wendy Lane around 8 p.m. The juvenile reported the information to an adult, who then notified a law enforcement officer who lives in the area.

Police responded to the scene and found skeletal remains. We’re told at this time, they’re treating the case as a homicide investigation. A forensic pathologist examination is pending.
