La Feria hit and run trial delayed for 11th time; family still waiting for justice
A new trial date has been set for a former La Feria coach accused in a deadly hit and run crash.
Jaime Guerra's trial is now scheduled for Oct. 19 after previously being set to start Monday, Sept. 14. This marks the 11th time the trial has been delayed.
Guerra was arrested in 2021 in connection with the crash that killed Robin Hernandez.

Police said Guerra hit Hernandez while he was walking along the Frontage Road in La Feria. Hernandez was a United States marine who served three tours in Iraq.
Hernandez's mother, Ginger Pointer, was not happy with the delay.
"All of the officers, troopers, the Texas Rangers have all been ready to come and testify and they've been called off once again," Pointer said. "We just want justice for my son."
