A 43-year-old man died early Tuesday morning following an auto-pedestrian crash in McAllen.

Gilberto Aguirre was killed in a crash that happened at 12:17 a.m. at the 300 block of W. Expressway 83, according to McAllen police spokesman Lt. Joel Morales.

The driver remained at the scene, Morales added. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
