SpaceX is targeting Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, for the launch of Starship Flight 14, pending regulatory approval, the company announced on Thursday.

The launch was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22.

SpaceX noted that target dates may change based on a number of factors.

"The upcoming flight is planned to be the first to send Starship into orbit around Earth," SpaceX said in a news release. "Flight tests until this point have intentionally flown passively safe suborbital trajectories to maximize public safety while allowing for maximum learning. By going to orbit, the next phase of developing Starship to be fully and rapidly reusable can begin."

As part of launch preparations, SpaceX will set up a safety zone perimeter in coordination with local law enforcement. That will include temporary closures of Highway 4 and Boca Chica Beach, according to a previous news release.
