PALMVIEW – Police in Palmview are conducting an investigation on two of their own officers.

Investigators said questions still remain after two Palmview police units accidentally collided Monday morning.

Palmview Police Lt. Carlos Zamarron said they are trying to learn exactly what caused the accident.

He explained the loss of the two units does not impact any of their daily operations.

“We do have sufficient units for our patrol officers to go out there and patrol the streets. We do have the manpower, so yes we are two units down but our manpower is still out there,” Zamarron said.

The lieutenant explained the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. on Abram Road south of 2 Mile Line. The officers were attempting to locate a suspect allegedly involved in a disturbance at the Tierra Maria Subdivision.

One of the officers was making a U-turn when it was struck by the other unit. The officers were not seriously hurt.
