Police: 3 dead, child injured after shooting at Texas home
TEMPLE, Texas (AP) - Police say they found three people dead, including a suspected gunman, and an injured child after responding to reports of gunshots at a house in central Texas.
Temple police spokeswoman Shawana Neely said Thursday that when officers arrived they found one female victim and the child in the front yard.
She says officers heard more shots while trying to get them off the lawn. Neely says a man inside the house wouldn't speak with negotiators and was later found dead along with another woman when police ultimately entered.
The cause of the shooting was still under investigation. Neely says she didn't know the condition or age of the child who was hospitalized, or the relationship between the victims.
Temple is about 60 miles north of Austin.
