SpaceX is targeting Sept. 22 for the fourteenth flight test of the Starship rocket from Starbase in Cameron County.

The 75-minute launch window opens at 7:15 a.m. and the flight is pending regulatory approval.

According to SpaceX, the flight test is planned to be the first to send Starship into orbit around Earth. Previous flight tests have intentionally flew passive suborbital trajectories to maximize public safety while allowing for maximum learning.

The launch will also mark the first time SpaceX plans to deploy Starlink V3 satellites into the constellation, delivering a payload that will dramatically expand connectivity speeds and reliability around the world, according to SpaceX.

SpaceX will set up a safety zone perimeter in coordination with local law enforcement. That will include temporary closures of Highway 4 and Boca Chica Beach.
