Observers on the ground continue to wait for the previously announced Starship orbital test flight that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said would happen last month.

The launch from the SpaceX Boca Chica site will test out the new Starship that comes with more engines and more power to approach orbit.

Among the spectators waiting for the flight are the people at Rocket Ranch, a campsite located upriver from the launch site.

Anthony Gomez is one of the partners who built the ranch along the Rio Grande to accommodate SpaceX enthusiasts.

“We are very fortunate to have one of the closest locations on the planet to a Starship launch, giving us that special vantage point,” Gomez said. "We can tell that they're doing a lot of engine work right now. They just replaced two raptors last night after the 11 engine static fire that they just had.”

An update on the status of the launch is pending.
