Channel 5 News asked Hinojosa about a possible sale of Boca Chica Beach to SpaceX. The Texas Tribune and Texas Monthly reported that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission had discussed selling 1,300 acres of public land that included Boca Chica Beach.
"It's such an important resource, the Valley is so important to me, as the place I am from, and I will never forget it," Hinojosa said.
Hinojosa said she spoke with the director of Texas Parks and Wildlife to confirm the issue was not on the agenda and to ask that no action be taken during the transition.
