Cameron County, TX (KRGV) — The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to ring bells outside stores as the holidays get closer.

The group will also start hanging Angel Tree tags soon. The tags let people buy holiday gifts for children in the Rio Grande Valley.

“Even though the donors have given the gifts the parents get to be the heroes because the parents have struggled these times so people who signed up for this are struggling and when they get to not have that stress and then have a happy Christmas.” The Salvation Army Cameron County Commanding Officer Capt. Whitney Houston said.

Holiday volunteers are needed through Dec. 19 and Angel Tree tags will be distributed to stores on Nov. 14.
