Upgrades underway for new soccer space at McAllen park
McAllen, TX (KRGV) — McAllen is turning a kickball field at Los Encinos Park into soccer space, according to Director of McAllen Parks and Recreation Denny Meline.
Construction started about a month ago. The project is expected to cost at least $350,000.
"Synthetic turf is very popular. This will be the second synthetic turf field that we install here in the McAllen, so we decided to give it a go, but again, they are very popular with the soccer community," Director of McAllen Parks and Recreation Denny Meline said.
The field should be ready next week.
