Valley locals rally in support of DACA program
A rally was held in Brownsville Monday in support of the DACA program.
Dreamers once again find themselves in limbo after a ruling last week by a federal appeals court.
Supporters of the DACA program are asking the government to come up with a solution for the program and the thousands of Dreamers currently enrolled.

DACA recipients, like Karina Hernandez, say she's here fighting for an opportunity to continue to work and live in the U.S. without fear. She's been a part of DACA for around 10 years.
"We had the opportunity to get DACA," Hernandez said. "I started working, I started having a better life, better finances with my family, to help my family and other people too."
Hernandez was 17 years old when she became a DACA recipient, and while she is thankful for what she was able to gain from the program, she is frustrated over the legal back and forth over the program.

"But still, I'm undecided because sometimes they have us on hold, or we're scared because what about if next year we're not able to renew our DACA," Hernandez said.
Last week, a federal appeals court ruled that the DACA immigration policy is illegal, but allowed it to continue for now.
New applications are not being accepted.
