Austin, TX (KRGV) — Texas governor-elect Gina Hinojosa will hold her first press conference after her victory as the next governor of Texas.

The event follows Hinojosa’s "successful initial conversations" with Gov. Greg Abbott, according to a news release.

Hinojosa, a Brownsville native, is the first Democrat to win the governor's seat since Ann Richards in 1990 and the first Latina governor for the state.

The press conference is set for Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.

Channel 5 News will be at the press conference, livestreaming it in this article and on the KRGV Facebook and YouTube pages.
