Weslaco, TX (KRGV) — The city of Weslaco acquired a new valve maintenance trailer to help crews service its water distribution system.

The trailer has tools crews can use in the field to service water valves. Those valves control water flow and let crews shut off sections of a line when a break happens.

The trailer also logs GPS coordinates for valves and hydrants. That information goes to the engineering department to update city maps and help staff during future repairs.

The trailer cost $100,000, and was fully paid for by the city.
