Weslaco Independent School District and the Weslaco Police Department are investigating after a student at Central Middle School made a verbal threat, according to school officials.

School officials said all students and staff are safe.

Officials asked parents to remind students that comments or statements about school safety will be taken seriously and reported to a trusted adult.
